Year of construction: 2018
Where: Africa, South Africa, Durban, Township Kwadabeka, Go!Durban Cycle Academy.
2018 #pumpforpeace started its partnership with the Go!Durban Cycle Academy and built the first Velosolutions Pump Track in the outskirts of Durban, KwaZulu Natal.
GO!Durban Cycling Academy runs the pump track together with the eThekwini Municipality and the support of the City’s Durban Green Corridor. The GO!Durban Cycle Academy offers a holistic program including cycling training, mentorship, academic support and nutrition, for all the riders.
The 165m long Velosolutions Pump Track includes the first bridge and tunnel ever built on a pump track. It is probably one of the most picturesque settings. It was specially designed for exciting head to head racing. The track also hosted the first-ever South African qualifier of the Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships in 2018.
